How to access your migrated profile

Regardless of whether you have a new eHospital computer or not you can still access your 'profile' from either once you have migrated it...here's how:

How to access your profile data that you migrated, using your current (non-eHospital) Trust computer

Using a current Trust computer (not a new eHospital computer) please follow these steps:

  1. Double-click on the Temporary Storage icon that will appear on your computer desktop once you have run the migration process.
  2. A window  will appear containing the name of the computer from which you have migrated your profile.
    Note: if you use multiple computers and you have run the migration process from each of the computers you use, all the computer names will be listed here so you can clearly see what has been migrated from where.
  3. Click on the computer name to see the list of the folders that have been migrated.
  4. Double-click on a folder to reveal the migrated files, settings and information.

How to access your profile data that you migrated, using a new eHospital computer

When you log on to a new eHospital computer you will be able to access your 'profile' data that you migrated from a Trust computer that has now been replaced by a new eHospital computer - here's how:

  1. Click on the Folder icon on the taskbar (bottom of the Desktop screen)
  2. Open the Y:Drive
  3. Click on the name of the old computer that has been replaced
  4. You will then see seperate folders containing your documents, settings and favourites - open each of the folders to reveal the migrated information.
     

How to save your internet favourites to a new eHospital computer

  1. Click on the Folder icon on the taskbar (bottom of the Desktop screen)
  2. Open the Y:Drive
  3. Click on the name of the old computer that has been replaced.
  4. Open the Favourites folder
  5. Select all of the favourites you want to copy (to select all of them press theCTRL and A buttons together on your keyboard)
  6. Right click and select Copy (or press the CTRL and C buttons together on your keyboard)
  7. Click the Windows icon (Start button) on the taskbar at the bottom of the Desktop screen
  8. Type the word Favourites into the search box
  9. The results will be displayed. Double click on the Favourites folder
  10. Right click and select Paste (or press CTRL and V buttons together on your keyboard)
  11. Start Internet Explorer (icon on the taskbar at the bottom of the Desktop screen) and check that your favourites are now available.
     

How to map network drives/shared department folders onto a new eHospital computer

  1. Click on the Folder icon on the taskbar (bottom of the Desktop screen)
  2. Open the Y:Drive
  3. Click on the name of the old computer that has been replaced
  4. Open the folder Mapped Drives
  5. You will see a command file icon (with a cog) with your username followed by mappeddrv.cmd - double-click on this icon. This will re-connect your mapped drives.
     

How to transfer important Trust documents from 'My Documents' from a computer that has been replaced by an eHospital computer

Please continue to tidy up your data by either transferring important documents from 'My Documents' to your department’s network folders/shared drive or delete it from the temporary storage area if it is no longer required (see the Trust’s Retention and Destruction Policy on Connect  internet before deleting any documents). Note: you must be on the Trust's network to access this Connect link.
